Treacherous Terrain and Tendon Treatment

After having on again/off again pain in my left ankle over the last few weeks and severe pain this weekend, I went to see the doctor first thing this morning and was diagnosed with Achilles tenosynovitis. I know what you are thinking . . . "the Achilles, now that's an easy one but what in the world is tenosynovitis???"

To put it plainly, the sheath around my Achilles tendon is upset because I changed the terrain on which I jog. No more hills for me, at least for a while.

So, for the next two weeks I have to wear tennis shoes, ice my tendon, take anti-inflammatory medication and stretch the ankle. If the sheath still doesn't think it's received enough love and attention then I'll undergo more serious treatments.

Ouch! Well at least you don't have to wear a funny old man sock like Kyle. :)
